Abstract: Hearing related issues are the top service-connected injuries affecting veterans of all generations - and the most import thing for veterans to know is that they are not alone. The Heroes With Hearing Loss® program is dedicated to bringing veterans, their families, Veteran Service Officers and hearing healthcare professionals together to share proven, lifestyle-focused solutions that can make a life-changing difference for veterans with hearing loss. Learning Objectives:
Understand the unique cultural perspectives and behaviors (both physiological and psychological) that affect veteran patients and how they affect treatment options.
Identify the most common hearing loss challenges faced by veterans and understand how those challenges may differ amongst veteran patients versus civilian patients.
Identify key physical and psychological comorbidities common amongst veterans (particularly those who have experienced combat) and understand how those commorbidities affect or inform hearing loss treatments.
