Early identification and intervention for childhood hearing loss is crucial in ensuring that the child can reach their communication goals. Despite the importance of early hearing identification and intervention (EHDI), loss to follow-up numbers remains high across the country. This presentation will discuss the EHDI guidelines, barriers to loss to follow-up throughout the EHDI process, and what we can do as audiologists to ensure that we are helping our patients understand the importance of early intervention.
