Dr. Maria Pomponio is a clinical audiologist at Stony Brook Medicine. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University Maryland and her Doctor of Audiology degree from Towson University. Prior to joining the staff at Stony Brook, she worked clinically at hospital organizations in Philadelphia and New York City. Dr. Pomponio has published articles and presented at state and national conferences on topics including auditory processing disorder and graduate student supervision. Dr. Pomponio is a member of the Academy’s 2022 Jerger Future Leaders of Audiology class. She is an active member of AAA, holding positions on the Ethical Practices Committee and the SAA Advisory Committee. Dr. Pomponio is a member of ASHA and a board member of the NYS Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NYSSLHA). She holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor at Brooklyn College, teaching the Communication Skills of Adults with Heaing Loss course to CUNY Au.D. graduate students.
