Seyma Yalcinkaya, an Au.D. student at Gallaudet University, is passionate about improving lives through audiology. I pursued a Bachelor's in Audiology field at Istanbul Medipol university in Turkey before diving into Doctor of Audiology program. I have been awarded with ASHA International Student Scholarship which is given to the graduate students in communication sciences and disorders who demonstrate academic achievement and promise. As a multilingual audiology student proficient in English and Turkish, with an average level of conversational and clinical ASL skills, my mission is to break down communication barriers and provide culturally sensitive care. I'm committed to serving minority groups, including the deaf community and individuals with disabilities, while advocating for higher education opportunities for underrepresented minorities. Through culturally sensitive collaboration, international exposure, clinical practice, and research, I strive to advance audiology and provide inclusive care to empower these underserved populations.
