Doctorate of Audiology Student
The University of Pittsburgh
Canonsburg, Pennsylvania
Sarah Meier is a third-year Doctorate of Audiology student at the University of Pittsburgh. She completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2021. For as long as she can remember, Sarah has wanted to pursue a carreer working with children who are deaf/hard of hearing (D/HH). Sarah has diversified her experiences working with children beyond the walls of clinic. She has volunteered with the Children’s Liturgy at her church, and at the Children’s Center, a branch of the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. From 2022 to 2023, Sarah was a trainee with the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and Related Disorders (LEND) program. This afforded her the opportunity to develop interprofessional skills and a family focused approach to patient care. Sarah looks forward to concluding her academic career with an externship position at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
