Bailey Branham is a Junior, at Auburn University, studying Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. As someone who has been affected by lifelong hearing loss, Bailey has spent a lot of time in the care of audiologists. Through her own experience, she has come to love audiology and aspires to serve other people with hearing loss like herself. Volunteering in the auditory and music perception lab, she has explored verification and validation of hearing aid technology, and the positive impact hearing aids can have on the lives of individuals with hearing loss. Her Undergraduate Research Fellowship under Dr. Aurora J. Weaver’s mentorship has funded three semesters of research activities dedicated to the project: “Pitch Perception and Production in Singing Aided versus Unaided Case Study.” The URF has provided Bailey with the opportunity to contribute to clinical audiology research and give back to the field that has given her so much.
