I am Miriam Muñoz an Audiology doctorate (Au.D.) and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience candidate at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I want to increase awareness of the importance of promoting effective communication strategies that are critical for success in almost every domain, including academic performance, social interactions, and family dynamics using electrophysiological, brain imaging, and motion capture methods. I hope to develop my own research program at a major research institution; this path will allow me to teach in the classroom, conduct laboratory research, interact with clinical patients, supervise student clinicians, and engage in community outreach activities. Additionally, I hope to inspire other minority students to obtain research and clinical experiences in an effort to increase diverse workforces.
