Sara K. Mamo, AuD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She completed her audiology and research degrees at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and she did a postdoctoral fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Center on Aging and Health. Her broad research interest is on improving the accessibility and affordability of hearing healthcare for older adults. Her current research projects focus on how communication is impacted by the combination of untreated hearing loss and cognitive decline, with a special interest in underserved populations.
