Silvio P. Eberhardt received a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University in 1987. His work has focused on speech perception and perceptual learning with multisensory stimuli, including tactile speech stimuli. His novel solutions to research challenges have provided new opportunities and directions for research. One example is real-time generation of the high-contingency feedback mentioned in the talk. Another is a 32-channel arbitrary-waveform tactile stimulator that can be used in functional magnetic resonance imaging environments.
