Tony Leroux holds a doctorate in Psychology from Carleton University (Ottawa) and a master's degree in Biomedical sciences (Audiology) from Université de Montréal, and is associate Vice-Rector, quality promotion, at Université de Montréal. He was Vice Dean of Health Sciences at the Université de Montréal Faculty of Medicine (2016-2020). He is a Full professor at the School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and a researcher at the Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire en réadaptation du Montréal métropolitain.
A committed scholar, Mr. Leroux has received numerous awards, including a UdeM teaching excellence award in 2006. His research has contributed to a better understanding of the impact of noise on human health, and to the advancement of numerous causes, including legal recognition of occupational deafness.
