Vivianne Wersel, Au.D., recently retired from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, works as a CAOHC Course Director for OMI. She recently was entered into the Congressional Record for her work with military families, hearing health care and legislation. She has over 30 years of clinical experience. She earned her master’s degree at San Diego State University and her Au.D. from Salus University.
Dr. Wersel’s interest in advocacy came about when she was widowed in 2005. Her husband served in Operation Iraq Freedom and died while on active duty. Dr. Wersel has testified on survivor issues before Congress twenty times for Gold Star Wives. She is a member Military Officers Association of America Western North Carolina Chapter and works with their Legislative Committee. She serves on the American Academy of Audiology Government Relations Committee and works with Congress to correct inequities and optimize services for audiologists and military survivors.
