Karah Gottschalk, AuD, PhD is currently a research audiologist at the Mountain Home VA in Tennessee. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from the University of Florida and her AuD from the University of Louisville. After completing her AuD studies, she started an audiology department in a hospital in upstate New York. During this time, she decided to pursue a Ph.D. in Gerontology at the University of Kentucky. While in Kentucky, she worked clinically in a residential facility for adults with mental and learning disabilities and in nursing homes around the area providing hearing services. In addition to her work at the VA she is also an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University. Additionally, she holds many volunteer spots in AAA, such as the research committee, curriculum committee, and resume review committee. Her current areas of research interest include aging, cognition, vestibular, and tinnitus.
