Virginia Driscoll, PhD, MT-BC is assistant professor of Music Therapy at East Carolina University. From 2004-2019, Dr Driscoll was a research specialist for the Music Perception Team and the lab of Karen Iler Kirk at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Cochlear Implant Clinical Research Center where she coordinated research for adults and children with cochlear implants collaborated with Audiologists and Speech-language pathologists in research and clinical projects.
Dr. Driscoll is an active researcher and clinician whose interests include: music therapy for children with hearing loss and speech-language delays; understanding the perception of music by adults and children with assistive listening devices; creating rehabilitation tools improve music enjoyment; Course-based undergraduate research experiences; and using Patient-Centered Outcomes Research. She has presented at national and international conferences and published in: Journal of Music Therapy, Music Therapy Perspectives, Ear and Hearing, Cochlear Implants International, and Journal of the American Academy of Audiology.
