Maxime Maheu has completed a master’s degree in audiology (University of Ottawa) and worked as a clinician, mainly with vestibular patients, for 4 years. While maintaining his clinical practice, he then decided to pursue his PhD in Biomedical Sciences (University of Montreal) followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University. Since 2020, he is an assistant professor at the School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology of the Université de Montréal and a researcher at Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire de readaptation (CRIR-IURDPM). The main objective of his research program is to improve evaluation and rehabilitation of patients with vestibular loss. To achieve this goal, his research aims at identifying biomarkers responsible of various vestibular pathologies. Secondly, his program aims at developing new and innovative methods to rehabilitate patients with vestibular loss.
